An original abstract oil on canvas is hand painted with palette knife to create the "Cityscape".
This work of art has been created on 18" x 24" white wrapped canvas is relatively a smaller version canvas compared to my previous canvas sizing. Its well primed and prepared for the textured cityscape effect.
The technique adapted here is the textured painting. The texture paste gives enough thickness to build an almost three dimensional base to any artwork.
Different palette knives were used to apply it on the canvas for the buildings and to carve their mark makings on all of the buildings.
Major colors being black, white and grey also contains a subtle cooler tone to set the mood. A mix of pink and blue hues gave this gloomy subtle violet color creating the dazzling evening scene.
The white highlightings provided the wet and slippery effect after a rain. To give this artwork some life, a brightly dressed lady holding an umbrella is accompanied by a black dog (silhouette). The lamp post bestowed the needed yellow lights and sparkle to this cityscape.
The edges of the canvas is been painted black and a final coat of protection is yet to be applied. Do leave in your comments and feedbacks in the box below.
